Catching Up with Craig Lieberman – 7 Years Later!

It’s been seven years, but I finally had the chance to catch up with an old friend—Craig Lieberman! If you’re a fan of Fast & Furious, car culture, or early 2000s tuner history, you probably already know his name. If not, let me introduce you to one of the biggest influences in the automotive world.

Who is Craig Lieberman?

Craig was the Technical Advisor for the first two Fast & Furious films, helping shape the tuner scene that exploded after the release of the 2001 movie. He was the guy responsible for selecting the iconic cars, working with the studios, and making sure everything on-screen had that real street racer authenticity.

But Craig’s automotive resume goes way beyond Hollywood—he’s been deep in the car scene for decades, owning some of the most legendary builds of all time.

Craig’s Iconic Cars

🚗 1994 Toyota Supra MK4 – The Fast & Furious orange Supra? Yeah, that was Craig’s actual car before it became the most famous JDM car in the world. It had a built 2JZ, TRD widebody kit, and tons of HKS goodies.

🚗 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 – Craig also owned one of the first R34 GT-Rs in the U.S., and yes, it was used in 2 Fast 2 Furious as Brian O’Conner’s car. That Bayside Blue legend was a piece of history before the movie even hit theaters.

🚗 2000 Nissan Maxima VQ30DE-T – This one flew under the radar, but Craig built a turbocharged Nissan Maxima that put down serious power—proving that even a sleeper sedan could be a monster.THE FAST AND FURIOUS MAXIMA WAS A SLICK SUPERCHARGED SEDAN! - F&F Maxima Review
